CEO of Randolph Media Group, Lydia manages the Randolph newspaper empire started by John Randolph in 1740. Lydia has guided the Randolph family with a firm hand through numerous tragedies, stock market crashes and liberal presidents. A fearless businesswoman, one of Lydia's proudest achievements was crushing Patrick Logan III after he attempted a hostile takeover of Randolph Media Group in the 1990's. A lifelong smoker, Lydia's voice is so low she makes Brenda Vacarro sound like a soprano. She's on her fifth face lift but her gnarled hands don't lie. Decades ago, Lydia battled a strange illness she kept hidden from her family. Lydia believes family comes first, ask questions later. She is especially close to her eldest son, Lyle. Not a fan of modern technology, Lydia claims computers will someday "grow skin and round us all up." She never makes the same mistake twice. Unless you count husbands.

Lyle Randolph is Lydia's eldest son and CFO of Randolph Media Group. Serious, responsible, level headed and determined to bring Randolph Media Group into the 21st century. More often than not, Lyle is caught between the strong women in his life: namely his mother and wife, Simone. He has been under incredible pressure since childhood, yet, unlike his siblings, he never seems to crack. Lyle provides many things for his family, but sometimes has a hard time communicating with them. Lyle did not attend his sister Rosalee's funeral. Lydia still hasn't forgiven him.

Simone Randolph married into the Randolph family after meeting her husband Lyle at a summer law internship. Simone decided not to attend law school, instead she set about becoming the perfect Randolph wife - a goal most in Hunston Hill would say she has achieved. Beautiful, refined and a woman of impeccable taste, Simone is the woman every woman in Hunston Hill wants to be. She reigns over the Hunston Hill social circle and splits her time between raising her son, Max, and preparing for charity events. She is incredibly proud of her rare orchid collection, a few of which she nurtured herself from seeds. Simone speaks her mind because her word is always the final word - with the exception of Lydia, whom Simone graciously tolerates because she is Max's grandmother.

Max is six going on twenty-six and keeps his parents on their toes. Unusually good with numbers, Max's current obsession is the Rubik's Cube which he can solve in a matter of minutes. Being the only son of the most powerful couple in Hunston Hill means Max is invited to lots of play dates with kids he doesn't relate to. Extremely perceptive, Max seems to understand people more than they understand him. Like his father, Max is closer to his mother. Unlike his father, when he is perplexed by Simone's choices, Max is not afraid to tell her how he feels.

Meta Randolph was born with a silver spoon in her mouth and a chip on her shoulder. Lydia often recounts the amusing story of her eldest daughter "accidentally" slapping her mother in the face shortly after birth. Meta is blessed with Randolph good looks... save the enormous dark mole erupting from the right side of her petit nose. Meta overrides her physical defect with her strong personality - anytime there's a party, Meta is the life of it. Over the years, Meta's family has tried to convince her to have the unsightly mole surgically removed... but Meta has always refused, arguing she shouldn't have to change her face to live a happy life. Unfortunately, she has yet to be proven right. Now in her early 40's, Meta has never found love and spends most of her time online running various internet startup companies. In recent years, Meta has also searched for romance online, and has had several serious internet boyfriends... but only after using an assumed name and an avatar of her midriff.

Timothy James (T.J.) is Lydia Randolph's youngest son from her second marriage to real estate tycoon Harry Glassman. A former captain of the Hunston Hill Academy football team, T.J. lead his team to a state title and remains a very popular figure in Hunston Hill. Some have even suggested he run for political office, knowing he'd be nearly impossible to beat. Charming, stylish and with movie star looks, T.J. seems to have it all. Unlike his siblings, T.J. avoids talk of the family business and would much rather discuss pop music or the latest fashion designers. To the surprise of many in town, T.J. chose to pursue a love of history rather than sports. He currently chairs the Hunston Hill Historical Society, securing notable artists and organizing the annual charity gala. T.J. is engaged to NYC transplant and fashion editor, Addie Altman, whom he plans to marry soon.

Brynn Logan is the heir to the massive Logan fortune that was lost before she was twenty. What would devastate most, Brynn found a relief. Determined to lead a normal life, Brynn attended college for three years before returning to Hunston Hill shortly after the mysterious disappearance of her brother, Arthur Logan. The meager salary she earns working with the elderly at the local nursing home is barely enough for the basics. She drives an unimpressive car and the once glorious Logan Manor is now in complete disrepair. Brynn does her best to avoid interaction with anyone in Hunston Hill as her last name comes with a price. She also avoids her own stunning natural beauty, though she can't help but turn heads when she goes out in public. So she rarely does, instead spending her time tending to others. Brynn hasn't dated in years, but she knows love is something she'll have to deal with someday... along with the family secrets she keeps.

Arthur Logan is extremely close to his older sister, Brynn. As of now, we only know they speak via an ancient intercom built into the kitchen wall inside the once grand Logan Manor.
