Hello and welcome to Episode 19 of the Passionate & The Privileged! Previously on P&P…

Lydia has convinced herself the Logan family will be returning to Hunston Hill to seek revenge. She turned to her son Lyle for support.

Brynn Logan has been working for the Randolphs under an assumed name. She and Lyle’s wife, Simone, have gotten very close.

Brynn has also caught the eye of other Hunston Hill residents, including hospital chief of staff, Dr. Bishop - much to Simone’s annoyance.

Afraid of what might happen if Simone found out her true identity, Brynn decided to quit her job working as the Randolph nanny.

She did what every person would do in that situation. With every ounce of sincerity, she looked Simone straight in the eye…and kissed her.

Oops.

Episode 19 “The Best Laid Plans5eb

@pandpBrynn But you were firm. You did quit.

@pandparthur I quit, yes. And then...

Brynn trails off. Arthur waits.

@pandpBrynn Oh, my God, this is like pulling teeth! You quit and THEN WHAT?

@pandparthur I kissed her. *holds out a bread basket* Rice cake?

That night in Simone’s bedroom, Simone lies in bed reading her Kindle. Lyle sits next to her typing on his laptop. The keys clack loudly.

@pandpSimone So Mr. Anderson was a fireman.

@pandplyle Must you be your mother’s librarian at this hour?

@pandpSimone Sorry, I’ve been busy running a company all day to keep you in Chanel.

@pandplyle Personally, I think the whole thing is a waste of your time. As if a fireman could even afford a decent attorney.

Lyle closes the laptop and sets it on his night stand. He looks at Simone as she reads silently.

@pandpSimone I’m doing this for us, you know.

Beat. Lyle runs his hand down Simone’s bare arm.

@pandplyle What are you doing?

@pandpSimone Thinking about the other morning.

@pandplyle Lyle, I’ve had such a long day.

Lyle gets the message. He silently turns out his light.

Meanwhile, in ARTHUR’S ROOM - Arthur looks at Brynn in disbelief.

@pandpBrynn Have you lost your mind?

@pandparthur Probably.

@pandpBrynn Was it a kiss? Or a kiss kiss?

@pandparthur Oh, it was a kiss kiss.

@pandpBrynn *makes a face* I can’t even... what part of you thought kissing Lyle Randolph’s wife was a good idea?!

@pandparthur It just happened, Arthur. But it won’t happen again.

@pandpBrynn Because you’re leaving.

@pandparthur Actually, I’ve decided to stay.

@pandpBrynn *turns red* Okay, I give up! *coughs* Let’s just call Lydia Randolph and have her come arrest me because we are fucked!

@pandparthur We’re FINE. I discussed things with Simone and we came to a mutual agreement.

@pandpBrynn Yeah, but did ya tell her your last name?

@pandparthur Not yet. But I’m going to.

Arthur leans back, stunned.

@pandpBrynn You trust her that much?

@pandparthur *nods* She may hate me... but she won’t try to hurt me.

The NEXT MORNING in the RANDOLPH KITCHEN... Simone stands at the kitchen counter, adding an item to the list.

Outside the window, a CREW of workers is building some sort of wooden structure in the back yard.

Brynn enters struggling with half a dozen bags from a gourmet deli. She hoists them on the table.

@pandpSimone How many of them are having lunch?

@pandpBrynn Oh, I don’t know. Three. Four.

@pandpSimone This is enough to feed an army!

Brynn walks over to Simone and looks over her shoulder. The list spans two sheets of paper. Brynn sighs. Simone shakes her head.

@pandpBrynn Uh uh. Too close.

Brynn steps a few feet to the side. Simone glances up.

@pandpBrynn A little farther please.

Annoyed, Brynn moves to the other side of the counter.

@pandpSimone So where are we feeding them? Inside or out?

@pandpBrynn Nope. Still too close. *points* Maybe stand over there. In the corner.

@pandpSimone SIMONE!

Simone slams down her pen.

@pandpBrynn I hardly think it’s my fault. You’re the one who came to work wearing THAT!

Brynn looks down, confused. She wears a fitted white T-shirt and jeans.

@pandpSimone It’s a T-shirt!

@pandpBrynn It’s too TIGHT.

@pandpSimone *under her breath* Oh, my God. This is ridiculous.

@pandpBrynn It is what it is!

Simone scribbles something furiously on the list. Brynn strains to see what she’s writing.

@pandpBrynn I’m going to need you to pick up some glasses. They don’t have to be prescription. And maybe a cap.

Outside in the back yard... the work crew builds an elaborate trellis.

Brynn arranges the sandwiches on a wooden table to Simone’s standards. She adds a vase of flowers as a finishing touch.

Okay, I hope you’re all hungry.

Break time!

*warmly* You’re all doing a great job, just give me a shout if you need anything.

Brynn walks back, passing Simone who carries a giant pitcher of lemonade. Brynn veers a good ten feet out of her way.

As Simone approaches the crew, we hear them talking.

Damn, that nanny chick is smokin’ hot! I bet the husband doesn’t mind having that action around.

The crew all laughs as Simone sets down the lemonade. She addresses them cheerfully.

Fresh squeezed lemonade boys!

@pandpworkman Except for you. *smiles* You’re fired. GO.

@pandpSimone Wait, what’d I do?

@pandpSimone Mrs. Randolph...

@pandpforeman And if you try to defend that pig you’re fired too.

Later, in the RANDOLPH KITCHEN, Simone arranges a cheese plate to calm her nerves. Lyle enters and gives Simone a peck on the cheek.

@pandpSimone I’m off to take Max to the game. Oh, but I need to ask Brynn something, is she around?

@pandplyle Do I look like her secretary?

@pandpSimone Jesus, Simone. Is she here or not?

Simone picks up her cell and dials. Beat.

@pandpBrynn Can you come into the kitchen please? *hangs up*

@pandplyle What do you need to ask her?

@pandpSimone I told T.J. I would get permission for her number. *grins* Dr. Bishop wants to ask her out.

Simone nearly cuts herself with the cheese knife. Before she can say a word, Brynn enters.

@pandpSimone Yes?

@pandpBrynn So Brynn, I hear you’ve got an admirer.

@pandplyle *laughs nervously* I do?

@pandpBrynn Apparently you made quite an impression on a certain doctor.

@pandplyle *relieved* Oh, James. He’s a sweetheart.

@pandpBrynn @pandplyle Funny, I’ve always found him to be a bit of a buffoon.

@pandpBrynn He’d like to give you a call, I just wanted to make sure that was okay.

@pandplyle Well, I... sure. I guess that would be fine.

Lyle winks at Simone and picks up a big piece of cheese in the center of her cheese plate leaving a gaping hole.

@pandpBrynn I’ll pass it along then. Be back around eight!

Lyle exits. The front door shuts. Simone explodes.

@pandpBrynn I cannot believe you gave your number to that idiotic doctor!

@pandpSimone What was I supposed to say?!

@pandpBrynn I find the word “NO” to be very useful.

@pandpSimone So I’ve heard.

@pandpBrynn He’s going to try to sleep with you, Brynn.

@pandpBrynn Who knows, maybe he’ll get lucky. After a couple of Razmatinis, you’ll probably let him!

@pandpSimone *angry* How could you say that?

@pandpBrynn Well, he’s single, isn’t he? And he’s a man. No reason not to.

Brynn’s jaw drops. She grabs her bag off the kitchen table.

@pandpSimone I won’t be talked to this way.

@pandpBrynn FINE. Leave early then! Max will be with Lyle and I’d rather be alone anyway!

Simone storms off into the pantry. Brynn walks angrily to the door when suddenly she hears a loud crash.

She stops. Simone calls from the pantry.

@pandpBrynn Brynn!

Moments later, Brynn runs into the dimly lit walk-in pantry.

Simone stands against the back shelves, a dozen toppled cans of expensive olives are on the floor.

@pandpSimone Are you okay?

Simone stares at Brynn, her eyes burning.

@pandpBrynn *quietly* No. Come here.

Brynn finds herself silently walking forward until their bodies touch.

Without a word, Brynn runs her hands around Simone’s waist and presses into her. Simone lets out a little gasp.

Within seconds the sparks they’ve been dousing all day grow into a raging fire.

Cans have flown off shelves as the fire rages on in the Randolph pantry. Suddenly Simone is unbuttoning her blouse & taking way too long.

Brynn impatiently pushes Simone’s hands away and quickly unbuttons it herself...

@pandpSimone We couldn’t even get through one day!

@pandpBrynn *buttons her blouse* I know. So we’re just going to have to try harder. I’ll take responsibility for this particular incident.

@pandpSimone I don’t know how many I can take.

Later in the RANDOLPH KITCHEN...

Where’s Bwynn?

Simone snaps out of her trance and rises to make breakfast. Max pulls himself up onto a kitchen chair and waits.

@pandpmax She’s taking a little vacation, darling. Daddy’s driving you today.

@pandpSimone Wow. Where’d she go on vacation?

@pandpmax *pours cereal* I don’t know.

Later, at LOGAN MANOR... Brynn answers her cell.

@pandpSimone Hi.

@pandpBrynn *choked up* Hi.

Brynn waits. Simone just sniffs on the other line.

@pandpSimone Are you okay?.

@pandpBrynn No. Not really. Lyle and I... we just had a terrible morning and I don’t know, I needed to... *sobs* hear your voice I guess.

And later in SIMONE’S GREENHOUSE...

@pandpSimone Why don’t you invite Brynn over? You two seem to be getting along.

@pandplyle She’s busy.

@pandpSimone Right, James invited her to some art opening tonight.

Simone stops in mid-scrub. The color drains from her face.
